Fellowship Overview:
• Assessing and treating patients for OSA
• The surgical and non-surgical management of patients with sleep breathing disorders
• The diagnosis and management of complications following mandibular advancement device (MAD) therapy and maxillomandibular advancement surgery (MMA)
• Cross-disciplinary treatment of OSA with sub-specialities in sleep medicine, such as Respirology, Otolaryngology, and Neurology.
The 12 month Fellowship in Surgical and Dental Sleep Medicine will combine “core” clinical rotations in surgical and dental sleep medicine and rotations in key disciplines whereby referral to dental sleep medicine is based on cross-disciplinary management of chronic disease and systemic management of ramifications of Sleep Breathing Disorders. Clinical and translational research will also be a vital component of the Fellowship, with dedicated research time centered around clinical decision making and quality improvement.
