Program description: This comprehensive fellowship offers extensive experience in cleft lip and palate surgery within a high-volume clinical setting. The program is anchored by the only state ACPA-approved cleft team, known for its exceptional interdisciplinary collaboration and team-based care. Fellows are exposed to the full continuum of cleft surgery—from primary lip and palate repairs to complex orthognathic procedures and secondary rhinoplasties. The high-volume cranial vault surgery program includes open and endoscopic procedures.
In addition to cleft care, the fellowship provides significant exposure to craniofacial surgery, including distraction osteogenesis, hemifacial microsomia, and other congenital anomalies. Participation in international surgical missions is encouraged.
Fellows are involved in all Cleft and Craniofacial cases in addition to having the opportunity to staff core OMFS cases with the residents, functioning as junior faculty. They also have the opportunity to work with different faculty members, including pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric otolaryngology, speech language pathology, pediatric dentistry, audiology, and orthodontics.
Scholarly activity is expected during the year.
