Graduate of an accredited Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in the United States or Canada.

Both Dental and Medical degrees are recommended but not required.

The applicant must be eligible for a full unrestricted dental and/or medical license in Texas. Training or institutional licenses are not acceptable.
Program Description: This 2-year fellowship is intended to provide surgeons with the ability to enter either an academic or private practice setting with a focus on head & neck oncology and reconstructive surgery. An intensive exposure to the management of the head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery patient is provided through a hybrid academic/private practice setting. Particular emphasis is placed on managing a hospital-based maxillofacial surgery practice and clinically the fellows will be exposed to all aspect of head and neck surgery. This includes but not limited to: oral and oropharyngeal cancer, salivary gland tumors, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, laryngectomies, skin cancer, and trauma reconstruction. Microvascular surgery with emphasis in implant driven free tissue reconstruction, as well as expanded head/neck and neurotology are also additional unique aspects of the exposure the fellow will experience.
In addition to highly competitive salary, additional support for attending AAOMS and AACMFS, licensure, board examination, and housing stipend are provided.
The fellow will be expected to participate in the education of interns and residents rotating from the US Navy and UT Southwestern / Parkland residency program. There are 9 full-time House Officers in our department at all times, and a dedicated MORS PA.
The fellows are considered and operate as junior attendings, with guidance from the fellowship directors. The Fellow will be encouraged and typically completes multiple research projects and publications in a peer-reviewed journal. Presentations at national meetings are encouraged and supported by the department. The fellowship is under the direction of Dr. Fayette Williams and Dr. Roderick Kim with additional experience provided by Otolaryngology colleagues supporting the fellowship.
