Henry Ford Warren Hospital is accepting applications for fellowship training in head and neck oncologic and microvascular reconstructive surgery. This is a 12-month,comprehensive experience in the management of patients undergoing head and neck surgery for malignant and advanced benign disease. This concentrated experience covers all aspects of surgical care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, ablative and reconstructive surgery and postoperative surveillance.

In time, the fellows will develop their own method of reconstruction and rehabilitation used in the management of these patients that include local and regional flaps, as well as distant microvascular free tissue transfer.

The fellows will oversee the head and neck service and assist with the teaching of the residents in ablative head and neck surgical procedures. The fellow will receive extensive training in free flap and pedicle reconstruction, skull base surgery, and transoral robotic surgery. The fellow is expected to participate in head and neck tumor boards, resident teaching rounds and weekly journal review with the program director and head and neck faculty. Fellows of this program will also spend a significant portion of their training at our sister institution, Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

It is anticipated that his fellowship will prepare the fellow for successful completion of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery.
