Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following materials:
- Current Curriculum Vitae
- A personal statement outlining interest in fellowship training and professional goals following completion of advanced training
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One letter from the applicant’s residency chair or program director
- One letter from a faculty mentor, colleague, or other professional reference
- Interview with fellowship faculty
Preference will be given to applicants who have secured, or are in the process of securing, a faculty, military, or institutional position (e.g., a children’s hospital appointment) following completion of fellowship training.

• Be graduates of an accredited dental school
• Have successfully completed an accredited United States or Canadian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program
Program Description
The Divisions of Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Neurological Surgery at Orlando Health Children’s jointly sponsor a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery. The fellowship provides advanced training in cleft lip and palate surgery, craniofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, and the full spectrum of pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Clinical training is supervised by a multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained surgeons, including Brent A. Golden, MD, DDS, FACS; Tyler Holley, MD, DDS; Ryan Jafrani, MD; and Samer K. Elbabaa, MD, FAANS, FAAP, FACS. Fellows participate in all aspects of patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, operative management, and postoperative care.
The fellowship practice serves as the primary provider of pediatric facial trauma care for the region’s Level I Children’s Trauma Center, offering extensive experience in the management of both acute and complex facial injuries. Fellows also participate in a variety of multidisciplinary outpatient programs, including the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Disorders Team, Plagiocephaly Clinic, and Velopharyngeal Dysfunction Program.
In addition to comprehensive clinical training, fellows have opportunities to participate in clinical research projects in collaboration with faculty mentors. The overarching goals of the fellowship are to prepare surgeons for leadership roles within interdisciplinary cleft and craniofacial teams and to advance the field of pediatric craniofacial surgery through rigorous, fellowship-level training.
