2021 CME Information

2021 AACMFS Annual Meeting
September 3 – 5, 2021

Provider-ship:
This activity is jointly provided by Medical Education Resources and the AACMFS.

Evaluation & Certificate:
A statement of credit will be available upon completion of an online evaluation survey for you to obtain a CME certificate at https://www.cmesurvey.site/AACMFS2021
Evaluation survey must be completed, and certificate downloaded by November 1, 2021. The survey will be closed 30 days after the meeting. Please contact Jamie Sykes at jsykes@cmepartner.org for questions regarding CME certificate.

Target Audience:
The Scientific Annual Meeting is for oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are Fellows of the AACMFS, who have come together to advance their field of practice and are interested in sharing experiences and setting future direction. Fellows and residents in related specialties may be invited by Academy members to present abstracts, and participate in the scientific meeting.

Learning Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Assess research abstracts and studies as they relate to craniomaxillofacial patient populations, pathology and treatment options, and the implications for changes in practice.
• Discuss advancements in biologics and technology in oral maxillofacial surgery, and appropriate utilization.
• Evaluate potential academic and curricular modifications to enhance knowledge, competency and improve relevancy.
• Examine contemporary interdisciplinary and cross-functional patient care delivery models with respect to your clinical setting.
• Discuss evolving aspects of care and innovations in technology, within oral maxillofacial surgery and in related specialties such as neurosurgery.
• Relate contemporary social issues, such as firearm violence, to the impact on trauma care.
• Apply leading-edge concepts in metacognition to improving education/training and surgical practice.

Physician Credit: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint provider-ship of Medical Education Resources (MER) and the American Academy of CranioMaxilloFacial Surgeons (AACMFS). MER is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation: Medical Education Resources designates this live activity for a maximum of 23 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
